FAQ's
What does the Erbium Laser Resurfacing treatment do?

The Erbium Laser resurfacing treatment is designed to remove superficial and moderately deep lines and wrinkles on the face, hands, neck and chest, as well as remove the layer of dead skin.

How does Laser Resurfacing work?

Because water is such a critical component in skin tissue, the Erbium Laser’s 2940 nm wavelength is capable of rapidly vaporizing water residing in the skin. This unique wavelength delivers an almost instant skin ablation (removal of the outer layer of skin) while limiting heat damage in the surrounding area. Different than a CO2 laser, the Erbium Laser is a gentler resurfacing tool that polishes the skin and can achieve superior resurfacing results.

Is there any skin type that the Erbium Laser can’t be used for?

Alekandra Predota, APRN-PC, FNP-C, owner of Scientiphika Med Spa will consult with you prior to treatment to be sure your skin condition is compatible with the desired results. Although the Erbium Laser is typically effective on all skin types, it cannot be used on tanned skin. Patients should avoid direct exposure to the sun and tanning beds for at least 4 weeks prior to treatment.

Does Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing stimulate collagen?

Yes, Erbium laser skin resurfacing stimulates collagen reorganization and fibroblast activation, particularly in photoaged skin.
